Leighanne Maloy Biography

LeighAnne always found herself guiding people with their diets and putting together workout plans over the years for her co-workers and friends. So, She went on to get certified as a personal trainer. LeighAnne now has 2 certifications, one for personal training and the other in sports nutrition. With her big move to Texas, LeighAnne took the opportunity to follow her passion for fitness and make a career change after 10 years of being  a teacher to do what she enjoys most.

She loves helping McKinney women learn how to live healthy!  LeighAnne has been with Texas Fit Chicks since 2010 as a trainer coaching women to learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. She and her husband have 2 beautiful girls (ages 11 and 9) who are the light of their lives! With pregnancy came weight gain and she had her own battles with weight-loss! Stubborn scales and clothes not fitting right was a reality for LeighAnne after having each of her babies. So, she understands the struggles that we face when trying hard to reach our own fitness goals! It can be done with determination and drive! If you want to live healthier and become more fit, strong and confident, she is here to help you and join you on your fitness journey! She will get you the results you’ve been wanting!   • “I began my incredible journey with TFC 2 ½ year ago, shortly after losing my dad to esophageal cancer in March of 2011 and being diagnosed with a benign melanoma on my eye. I began my search for ways to promote a healthy life style for my family and me. In addition, I was in desperate need of a way to channel my stress and emotions in a productive manner that was solely dedicated to me. In August of 2011 I was introduced to an amazing community of chicks and their fearless leader, LeighAnne. I cannot express in words how much strength, confidence, and motivation I have gained since beginning my journey. My community of chicks continue to inspire me to push myself to new limits and strive to be a better me. They make the exercise I dread the most, frog hops, almost as enjoyable as the one I have grown to love, burpees. It is because of LeighAnne and my 5AM chicks that I was inspired to become a Certified Personal Trainer.” -Theresa

  • “I am 34 years old, married to my high school sweetheart. We have two children, Avery 8 years old and Talon 4 years old. I joined TFC in April 2013. I am an interior designer and began to notice I wasn’t as strong as I used to be when moving heavy pieces of furniture, etc. I needed something early in the morning, and getting up and going to the gym wasn’t working for me. LeighAnne’s 5am bootcamp was perfect! I immediately began to feel stronger and loved her workouts. I’m at a point now that if I have to miss a workout, I’m disappointed! I haven’t felt like that in a long time! My favorite exercise is weight training and my least favorite is cardio or any animal named exercise! I would recommend TFC to anyone looking for a challenge.   • “I have been with Texas Fit Chicks a little over a year and a half. I am 31 years old, married and I stay at home with my 4 year old daughter, Rylee and a 2 year old son, Eli. My favorite exercise is finish before the minute and my least favorite is double knee ins. After having my son I lost the majority of the weight on my own doing P90X, but was having a hard time getting off the last 5-10 lbs. LeighAnne was my neighbor at the time and harassed me into trying Texas Fit Chicks :0) I am so thankful she did too, because after 1 week, I was hooked and LOVED it!   • “I just started my third year with TFC! Before discovering TFC, I thought I maintained a healthy lifestyle. I got on an elliptical for 30 mins 2-3 times a week and am a vegetarian. I wasn’t thin, but never felt over weight either. It wasn’t until my annual check-up with my doctor that I realized the truth. At the age of 32, I was suffering from high blood pressure. I mean.. Really high. So my doctor gave me 3 months to see if changing my diet and exercise would help lower it. A friend of mine was and still is a member of TFC and suggested I try it. I figured it was worth a shot as I didn’t want to be medicated so early in life. After the first 6 weeks with TFC, I only lost 3lbs, but I felt better. So I decided to give it another 6 week try. That’s when I did my first weight loss challenge where a meal plan was provided. I lost 14lbs in 30 days while doing that challenge! I had found the problem. I was an unhealthy vegetarian. The meal plans are outstanding! Even as a vegetarian, I am able to adapt them according to my needs. I was hooked! The more I lost, the more I wanted to lose. When I went back to the doctor, he was shocked by my transformation in just 3 months time. My blood pressure was perfect and still is today. I stand here at the age of 34 in better shape than I ever have been including my teenage years! I started Texas Fit Chicks at 150lbs, a size 12-14 and now I stand before you at 130lbs and a size 4-6. What I love most is the fact that maintaining the weight loss has been easy because it’s not a “diet”, it was a lifestyle change. There is no way I would be in the physical state I am now without the help of Texas Fit Chicks and specifically my trainer LeighAnne. Your dedication to fitness shows in every workout you deliver!   • “I began Texas Fit Chicks McKinney the end of summer 2013 after having a routine physical for insurance purposes. The physical included blood work, and while all of my numbers came back normal, they were ALL on the highest end of normal, almost unhealthy. I also fell into the category of “overweight” for the first time ever in my life. At that point I decided I needed to make a change. I wanted to get healthy again. I was only 32 years old and I didn’t want to spend my 30’s feeling insecure and bad about my weight. I had always been considered a relatively thin person for most of my life until my late twenties when I went through two and a half years of infertility treatments. Between all of the hormones, stress eating, and finally having a baby, I had put on over 30 pounds and was heavier than I had ever been. I had joined gyms before to try and lose the weight, but I never went on a regular basis. I just didn’t enjoy it after about a month. It always got boring, and I never saw results. Since I’ve been with Texas Fit Chicks, training with LeighAnne, and I am hooked! She really motivates and encourages us. She’s even been known to hunt us down if we miss bootcamp. 🙂 I look forward to our workouts and I love how good I feel each time we finish. The workouts are hard, but totally doable. I just feel better throughout the day on bootcamp days. I never thought I’d enjoy a 5am workout, but I’ve found that it is a time of day that no one needs me and it doesn’t interfere with anyone’s schedule, which makes it a perfect time to workout. I’ve even met some great women that I’ve become friends with, another added bonus! This past summer I had another physical and all of my numbers were excellent as well as my weight, no longer in the “overweight” category. I’ve lost 30 pounds and gone from a size 12 to a size 4.   • “Well I am not sure if you see a big difference but I sure do feel one. Last year a co-worker said to me. “Let’s do the fit chick boot camp. “. I was like oh Hell no, there’s no way I can do all that. But she persisted so I agreed. Needless to say I am still at it. I will celebrate my one year anniversary on the 18th of February. My co-worker has long since quit and I joined the crazy 5am crew and I am having a blast. The aches and pains I was experiencing before boot camp are now gone. I still have pain but it’s because I am transforming. I see a difference in my figure but most others either don’t or they don’t comment. Sometimes it gets me ?down but I ask myself why am I working out. For them or me and the answer becomes clear. I feel like my outside is beginning to match my inside. Inside I feel young and restless. Lol. I also am about to celebrate my 50th birthday and I want to step out on the beach in a two piece suit. White as a matter a fact. Maybe even a thong to show off my booty. Lmao. I want more than anything to be a mom my kids are proud of. Being a single parent is a challenge and I think the greatest gift I have given my kids is the gift of self appreciation. Showing them I love me helps them to understand that self love in necessary for others to see so when ?yo?u earn and demand respect honor and appreciation. It’s easier to give. Now my trainer LeighAnne is the BOMB. many days I go simply because I want her to know just how much she means to me. She ?is ?always there to listen and kicks it up a notch when needed. She is my inspiration. Now I may not get where she is physically but anywhere close is a blessing. I am glad I can say that I remember the day I couldn’t do one burpee and now I can do the jump either before or after. Thanks for keeping it moving.   • “Over a year ago I developed severe food allergies. I saw it as a doorway to a new life style change. I began to eat clean and workout but never really had a routine so working out alone wasn’t showing results. I later moved in with my bestest friend Mackenzie Chesney who saw I needed a good push. She took me to Texas fit chicks with LeighAnne Gilbert Maloy and I knew I found a great group. I became so dedicated. She knows how to push me and knows what I’m capable of.   • “I have been with Texas Fit Chicks /McKinney since April 2014. I have been following Texas Fit Chicks for at least 3 years & always wanted to join but due to my husband’s schedule the only time I could fit in a boot camp was at 5:00 am. With working fulltime & have 2 kids that didn’t always sleep through the night- I couldn’t commit to the 5am. However, April of 2014 I saw a Groupon & decided to give it a shot. I am hooked & 5am isn’t too bad. I’m 36, married & have 2 boys; Coen is 5 & Liam is 3. I work for a Healthcare Staffing firm & wear many hats. My favorite exercise that I love to hate is burpees, the least favorite just depends on the day & how sore I am. I have always been fairly active & could pretty much eat whatever I wanted without consequences. After having 2 kids, my body changed & as I got older my metabolism changed & I realized that I needed to commit to something besides working out at home(because that wasn’t working for me) to keep me in shape. I also have bad genes & have always had high cholesterol & recently found out that I am in the watch zone for being a pre-diabetic so I knew I needed to take action now to live a healthier lifestyle. I’m not a big fan of the scale- I do know I have lost some weight but more importantly my clothes fit better, I feel fitter, stronger & more alive. I do consider to be living a fitter lifestyle & make it a point to be active at least 5 days a week, even if it’s a quick 15 minute HIIT workout. I tell everyone that I know how great Texas Fit Chicks is & encourage them to give it a try. ” -Tina M

  • “I took advantage of a groupon and joined Texas Fit Chicks on November 26th. Honestly, my primary reason for joining was to help my 14 year old daughter, who joined with me. I wanted to set an example for her of what a healthy woman looks like and to be an encouragement for her. I wasn’t happy with my weight at the time but didn’t really think I was all that out of shape. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I work full time, have a husband and four children so the hardest part was just getting started in the 5:00 AM class. After the first 30 days of working out with Leighanne Gilbert Maloy, I was hooked!!! I signed up for an additional six months. Now after 16 weeks, I have lost 17.6 pounds, 6.5% body fat and almost 10 inches!!! This has been the best thing I have ever done for MYSELF and I highly recommend Leighanne!! She challenges you to push beyond what you think you are capable of and is a constant encouragement and motivator. I love how every workout is completely different and keeps you from getting bored.   • “Joining TFC was one of the best decision I’ve made! I did not like waking up at 4:30 a.m. However, I knew there was only one person who can change the way I look and felt; this person was me. I woke up with a positive attitude, and convinced myself to go to class. Sure, I had my moments where that was more difficult. However, nothing can break a determined mother of two.   • My name is Shantell Jenkins and I have been with TFC for 7 weeks! I am 26 years old. I have been married to the love of my life for 3 years now. I have a 2 year old son and two step kids! I am a full time stay at home mom. My favorite exercise is running! I hate burpees!! The reason I started TFC was because I was tired of being overweight and was ready to look better and feel better for me and my family. I chose TFC because who doesn’t love Merideth?!   • Hi, my name is Alisha! I am a single mom of a 6 year old boy who will be 30 this month. I have been with TFC for 6 months now and I love it! My favorite exercises are jump squats and reverse crunches and least favorite are burpees and jump rope. In January 2011, I went in for a check up and discovered I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and was severely overweight at only 27 years old. I had no idea how I let myself become that way but I knew things had to change. This past spring one of my best friends suggested we try TFC and from the first week, I was hooked! Since starting my weight loss journey I have lost 87 pounds. TFC has helped me build muscle and lose inches over the last 6 months and really helped when I plateaued on my own. LeighAnne is an amazing trainer and helps me push myself when I really need it. To those who have been thinking about trying TFC I say, stop thinking and just try it once…you’ll be hooked as well!
